Aquasaurs (or Triops Longicaudatus to give them their proper name) have existed for more than 350 million years. They’re even older than dinosaurs! They have survived the ice-age, the stone-age and almost every other age for that matter! There have sure been a lot of 'ages' in the last 350 million years!
Aquasaur eggs can lie dormant for up to 25 years and scientists believe this may be the secret to their survival!
Now you can hatch and raise live Aquasaurs in a fascinating prehistoric aquatic environment and watch as they swim and play among glowing undersea volcanoes. It’s like travelling back in time!
The tank is made from a lightweight plastic that firms up when you add water, then you simply add the eggs (you get about 50 of them) and within days you'll be growing little pre-historic creatures - for real, now how cool is that. Ours hatched after two and half days and probably think that humans (actually not sure they think much) have enormous heads as we all keep peering into the tank to check out how they're growing.
